 “Where are the Children Now?” by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke, this is the sequel to her classic “Where are the Children?” written over four decades ago. We met Nancy and her children in the first book. Now, Nancy’s daughter Melissa is grown and recently married a man with a young daughter. Melissa’s stepdaughter goes missing, bringing back memories of her own abduction. She and her brother Mike race to find Riley, to save her from the trauma they still struggle with or worse. “Happy Place” by Emily Henry, this is the story of a couple who break up after nearly a decade, but pretend to still be together for their annual best friend’s vacation. Will they get away without telling their friends for a week or will the friends find out and try to get them back together?  “Silver Alert” by Lee Smith, this is a funny novel about family, secrets, and aging. He also decides to take his wife’s manicurist along for the ride, soon setting off a Silver Alert. “My Heart Will Find You” by Jude Deveraux, this is the story of Etta, a young woman trying to find her spot in life. When she meets Henry an older gentleman looking for a caretaker she settles into a companionable living arrangement. Etta indulges in Henry’s library and soon is dreaming of the Midwest and being a mail order bride. She can only hope of finding love like that in her life. “The Wedding Planner” by Danielle Steel, this is the story of Faith Ferguson, a very successful wedding planner, even if she hasn’t walked down the aisle herself. She must make every ceremony a success through the private quarrels, unplanned pregnancies, family scandals and dark secrets to prove that there is more than one way to happily ever after.
