Library Notes for July 20, 2011

HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT…what more is there to say. It’s summer, It’s July! The John L. Street Library is COOL in more ways than just AC. Summer Reading that’s cool, E-books they’re cool, “Pam’s Picks are HOT but they are cool! I guess you get the point.

New Fiction: “10th Anniversary” by James Patterson, the Woman’s Club is back to full throttle. Newly married Detective Lindsey Boxer is called to investigate a horrendous crime. Meanwhile Assistant DA Yuki Castellano is prosecuting the biggest cast of her life.

“Priest’s Graveyard” by Ted Dekker, the story of two abandoned souls, a priest and the hopeless victim of a powerful man cross paths. Things go very badly for them. Can love overcome their twisted fate?

“Silent Mercy” by Linda Fairstein, Prosecutor Alex Cooper is called to a crime scene where the body of a young woman is left burning on the church steps. Alex soon becomes involved in the sinister world of New York’s religious institutions.

“Heart of Ice” by Lis Wiehl and April Henry, this is a triple treat novel that will make your blood run cold. Elizabeth Avery has a winsome smile and a flawless figure and underneath a heart of ice.

New Non-fiction: “Complete Fishing Manual” by Henry Gilbey, this is a cool book.

“The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven” by Kevin and Alex Malarkey, a remarkable account of miracles, angels, and life beyond. In 2004, Kevin Malarkey and his six-year-old son, Alex, were in an accident. The impact from the crash paralyzed Alex and doctors said, it was unlikely that he could survive. But two months later, Alex awoke from a coma with an incredible story to share.

“Revolt! How to Defeat Obama and Repeal His Socialist Programs” by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann, this is a Patriot’s Guide.

“Killer Stuff and Tons of Money” by Maureen Stanton, this is a how to book. Seeking history and hidden gems in Flea Markets in America.

New Large Print/Christian Fiction: “Vote of Confidence,” “Fit to be Tied,” and “Matter of Character” by Robin Lee Hatcher, this are the first three books in the Sisters of Bethlehem Springs series.

Cookbook of the Week: “Cooking with the Class of 2011”by Trigg County Class of 2011.

“Tasteful Table” by Miss Fits Relay for Life Team.

“Good Recipes for Great Democrats” by Trigg County Democratic Woman’s Club.

Yes, you guessed it! These are all local recipes from Trigg County Clubs.

New Audio Books: “Bel-Air Dead” by Stuart Woods, “Six Kill” by Robert B. Parker.

New DVDs: “True Grit” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.”
