February is Black History Month: this year we have added “The Complete Encyclopedia of African American History” this 4-volume set includes: Notable Firsts, Heroes and Heroines, 400 Years of Achievement, and Civil Rights Feats and Facts.

“Pam’s Pick” this week is: the new biography of Coretta Scott King, “My Life, My Love, My Legacy.”

This is the life story of the wife of Martin Luther King Jr., founder of the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change and singular 20th-century American civil rights activist presents her full life story, as told before her death to one of her closest confidants, Dr. Barbara Reynolds.

New Fiction:  “The Rising” by Heather Graham, “Drowning Tides” by Karen Harper this is book two in the South Shores series, “Fatal” by John Lescroart, “The House Husband” by James Patterson, this is a BookShot, “Echoes in Death” by J. D. Robb, and “No Man’s Land” by Simon Tolkien.

New Christian Fiction: “The Newcomer” by Suzanne Woods Fisher, this is book two in the Amish Beginnings series, and “In the Shadow of Denali” by Tracie Peterson, this book is in large print and the first in the Heart of Alaska series.

New TV Season: “The Walking Dead” season 6.

Don’t forget! We are still having the Pokémon Scavenger Hunt! A new Hunt starts today- ask at the front desk for a scavenger hunt form. Find all the Pokémon in the library and win a Pokémon.

TAX SEASON: We are now scheduling tax appointments. RSVP will be here every Tuesday and Thursday in the basement doing taxes. Please call the library for an appointment.

SPECIAL EVENT: On Saturday, February 18th Alyssa Foster will be in the library board room to “Show & Tell” us more about the Blind and the useful things the blind use every day to help them. She is a delightful young lady who is willing to share her knowledge. She will be here from 9:00-12:00. I hope you will stop by and enjoy this busy month at your library!

The library will be closed Monday, February 20th in honor of Presidents Day!
