May is Get Caught Reading Month! Share the joy of getting lost in a good book with your children. It’s a gift that will last a lifetime! The best way to raise an avid reader is to be an avid reader. Next time your kids are reading for school or for pleasure, put down your phone and pick up a book. Talk to your kids about the books you read and make talking about books part of your go-to conversation topics.

Pam’s Pick this week is: “Cave of Bones” by Anne Hillerman, this book takes you deep in the heart of the Navajo Nation and once again explores the lore and rituals of Native culture. When Navajo teen Annie Rainsong goes missing on a camping trip aimed to help troubled girls get on track, tribal police officer Bernie Manuelito happens to be en route. Annie turns up unharmed, but there are mysteries to be solved. What scared Annie in the cave where she spent the night? And where is the man who tried to find her?

New Fiction: “The Fallen” by David Baldacci, “I’ve Got My Eyes on You” by Mary Higgins Clark, “My Dear Hamilton: a Novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton” by Stephanie Dray, “The River House” by Carla Neggers this is the eighth book in the Swift River Valley series and also in large print, “The Female Persuasion” by Meg Wolitzer, and “Shoot First” by Stuart Woods.

New Mysteries: “Black and White Ball” by Loren D. Estleman, and “Death and the Viking’s Daughter” by Loretta Ross, this is the forth book in the Auction Block mystery.

New Biographies: “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership” by James Comey, and “Unmasked: a Memoir” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

New Non-fiction: “The Bill of Rights: a User’s Guide” by Linda Monk, “The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist: a True Story of Injustice in the American South” by Radley Balko, “The Best Cook in the World: Tales from My Momma’s Table” by Rick Bragg, “Simple Cleaning Wisdom: 450 Easy Shortcuts for a Fresh & Tidy Home” by Good Housekeeping, “Mini Makeovers: Easy Ways to Transform Every Room” by Country Living, and “Canada: Eyewitness Travel.”
