Library Notes for November 2, 2011

FALL…for the very best November hard covers! I’m going to get right down to book business…”Pam’s Pick” is a book of Non-fiction.  “Jacqueline Kennedy Historic Conversations on Live with John F. Kennedy” forward by Caroline Kennedy, interviews with Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr., in 1964. It includes never before heard interviews on 8 CDs.

I started with Non-fiction so I think I will reverse order and tell you about other interesting books of that genre.

New Non-fiction: “Clark Howard’s Living Large in Lean Times” by Clark Howard, this book has over 250 ways to buy smarter, spend smarter, and save more money.

“Entreleadership” by Dave Ramsey, this book has 20 years of practical business wisdom from the trenches.

“Fatal Gift of Beauty” by Nina Burleigh, the trials of Amanda Knox. This is the twisted tale of Amanda Knox, the all-American college girl convicted of murder in Italy.

“Seal Team Six” by Howard E. Wasdin, these are the memoirs of an elite navy seal sniper.

Getting scared, don’t worry I’m on to Fiction!!! Large type that is.

New Fiction: “Lethal” by Sandra Brown, a story that reminds us that everything and everyone are not always what we think. Honor Gilette should have thought twice before rushing out to help a stranger in her yard. Now she and her little girl are hostages!

“Heartwishes” by Jude Deveraux this is book five in the Edilean series. Gemma is afraid that the ancient rock said to grant wishes will fall into the hand of the wealthy Frazier family.

“Late Edition” by Fern Michaels, this is the third book in the Godmother series. Toots Loudenberry has a knack for finding adventure, but ever since Sophie convinced her friends to start holding regular seances, life in Los Angeles is getting a little too dramatic even for Toots’ tastes. The past can get a little weird.

“The Race” by Clive Cussler with Justin Scott, this is an Isaac Bell adventure. It is 1910, the age of the flying machines. $50,000 is offered to any daring aviator who can cross the U.S. in less than 50 days. But things are not quite what they seem.

“Son of Stone” by Stuart Wood, this is a Stone Barrington novel. Stone’s life is about to take a turn he never imaged. Arrington has plans for Stone that include introducing him to the child he fathered many years ago.

New Western: “Texas Showdown” by Elmer Kelton, this book contains two stories. “Pecos Crossing” and “Shotgun” they are both shoot-em up westerns at their best.

New Cookbook: “The Great 5 Ingredients Cookbook” this book contains over 250 simple, healthy dishes in less than 30 minutes.

New Audio Books on CD: “Lethal” by Sandra Brown, and “The Race” by Clive Cussler.

New DVDs: “Get Low,” and “Rear Window.”
