Driving to a cottage on Lake Michigan for a short honeymoon they take a wrong turn off the interstate. The two-lane road is deserted. They see a light in the trees and then a girl staggering along the road, bleeding. They pick her up and follow signs to the hospital. Almost as soon as they get there, the girl dies, and Detective Quentin of the state police arrives. Quentin interrogates the couple and puts them up in a local B&B while he investigates them further.
