Library Notes for February 8, 2017
The word “Bibliophile” is: a lover of books; someone who finds joy and peace of mind while holding a quality book. Our newest contest at the library is “I Love My Library Because…” All you have to do is write on a heart why you love your library. We will put the heart on our bulletin board and at the end of the month we will draw one lucky person to win at Heart Shaped Folded Book. Stop by and tell us why you love your library.
“Pam’s Pick” this week is: “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly, this is the phenomenal true story of the black female mathematicians at NASA whose calculations helped fuel some of America’s greatest achievements in space. It is also now a major motion picture.
New Fiction: “The Fifth Petal” by Brunonia Barry, “The Prisoner” by Alex Berenson, this is a John Wells novel, “The Trapped Girl” by Robert Dugoni, “The Nowhere Man” by Gregg Hurwitz, “Wyoming Brave” by Diana Palmer, this is a Wyoming Men series novel and also in large print, and “Copycat” by Kimberla Lawson Roby.
New Christian Fiction: “Amish Weddings” by Leslie Gould this is the third book in the Neighbors of Lancaster County, and “My Valentine” by Tracie Peterson, this book is only in large print.
New Mysteries: “No Witness but the Moon” by Suzanne Chazin, and “A Puzzle to be Named Later” by Parnell Hall.
New Non-fiction: “Beyond Mars and Venus: Relation Skills for Today’s Complex World” by John Gray, “Big Agenda: President Trump’s Plan to Save America” by David Horowitz, “Yeah, Baby!: the Modern Mama’s Guide to Mastering Pregnancy, Having a Healthy Baby, and Bouncing Back Better Than Ever” by Jillian Michaels, “Food, Health and Happiness: 115 On-point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life” by Oprah Winfrey, “The Beginner’s Guide to Vinyl: How to Build, Maintain, and Experience a Music Collection in Analog” by Jenna Miles, and “The Lost Colony of the Confederacy” by Eugene Harter.

Don’t forget! We are still having the Pokémon Scavenger Hunt! A new Hunt starts today- ask at the front desk for a scavenger hunt form. Find all the Pokémon in the library and win a Pokémon.
We are now scheduling tax appointments. RSVP will be here every Tuesday and Thursday in the basement doing taxes. Please call the library for an appointment.
On Saturday, February 18th Alyssa Foster will be in the library board room to “Show & Tell” us more about the Blind and the useful things the blind use every day to help them. She is a delightful young lady who is willing to share her knowledge. She will be here from 9:00-12:00. I hope you will stop by and enjoy this busy month at your library!
The library will be closed Monday, February 20th in honor of Presidents Day!
